I am taking care of my 94 year old uncle's house. I stop in when I can to make sure everything is ok.

I had to go down (an hour each way) last week to meet the gas co. guy so they could change the meter. I walked in and found water on the floor and dripping from the ceiling. It had been say two months since been there last.

took care of the gas co. guy and shut off the main water supply. Called Safeco the next day and explained the situation. I am in CT, they gave me an adjuster in Illinois.

When I finally talked to an adjuster in CT 4 days later, she could care less, gave every indiction the claim would be denied and said if I couldn't meet her in 4 days, Thursday, it would have to wait till next week. I met with her and got the same impression-you pay the premium and when you try to make a claim they try to find an exclusion.

This is a typical claim, why people pay for insurance. Still waiting for the final word.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $9000.

Preferred solution: Deliver product or service ordered.

Location: New Fairfield, Connecticut

All Insurance Companies have language regarding water damage that occurs over weeks ,months . Sounds like the adjuster could use some bedside manner training ,however your uncles claim would be denied by any insurance company unless you changed your story.
